Road Transport Operators

Road transport operators either operate their own vehicle or third party vehicles. They are required to be registered as per the Indian Road Carriage Act of 2007. By virtue of such registration, they can issue a contract note for the carriage of goods as per the transaction. The rules also afford protection to the registered operator by providing a limitation of claim in respect of the cargo carried. A separately-designed road transport operators liability insurance cover is available to protect operators from such risks.
